  • Naked Winery

Naked Winery is a force. With vineyards all over Oregon and Washington, the Hood River-based winery likes to bring a little tease to its tasting rooms. The winery produces a number of reds and whites as well as some sweet wines and even a collection of sparkling wines. The reds include Pinot Noir and Barbera, and the white offerings range from Chardonnay to Muscat. There’s even a line of Outdoor Vino that comes in a plastic bottle. NW’s tasting room in McMinnville, Oregon is the latest outpost for the Gorge winery, and visitors can find at least eight Naked wines to sample. It’s open from noon to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon to 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

  • Winderlea McMinnville Tasting Room

If you looked up “boutique winery” in the dictionary, you might find a photo of Winderlea founders Bill Sweat and Donna Morris on the page. The pair, originally from Boston, have staged a second career in Oregon as winemakers who focus on small batches of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that’s crafted with limited intervention. In fact, the entire Winderlea staff is made up of transplants. One is from South Carolina, another is from Arizona and one is even from Scotland! You can meet some of these adopted Oregonians at the Winderlea tasting room, which it shares in Downtown McMinnville with Brittan Vineyards. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
