Currents Gallery: “Introducing Six Artists New to Currents Gallery”

The October show at Currents in McMinnville will feature the six newest artists to join the Currents gallery family. A variety of beautiful mediums will be on display.
Included will be colorful and interesting abstract paintings by artist and instructor, Lynne Wintermute, and intricately detailed wire wrapped jewelry by Emily Start. Joining this group is Nancy Kiltz whose basketry weaves in a variety of natural materials from sea-grass to horns and antlers. Blending in beautifully will be the work of watercolorist, Robin Becic. She creates fascinating affects with water media using Yupo paper, batik techniques on rice paper and monotype printing. Anne Stecker’s pottery is functional, combining the techniques of hand-building and wheel-throwing. The patterns and colors in her artwork are influenced by her travels; from desert rock formations, to European architecture. The vibrant oils and pastels by Mary Weil, are imbued with her joy of plein air landscape painting.
Don’t miss the exquisite ambiance of this show. Meet the artists at the Opening Reception on Saturday, October 17th, 12 – 5 p.m.
