McMinnville Chess Tournament at Evergreen Museum

The McMinnville community is invited to the inaugural McMinnville Chess Tournament, taking place on Saturday, May 10, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum. Several rooms have been reserved to comfortably accommodate up to 30 players.

Participants are asked to bring their own chessboards and clocks (BYOB!). A limited number of chess sets and clocks will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To ensure a respectful and supportive environment, all attendees must adhere to the tournament’s Community Code of Conduct. Open containers should be kept away from game boards and equipment.

Tournament Details:

• Open to players of all ages and skill levels until registration reaches capacity

• Four divisions: Youth Rated, Youth Unrated, Adult Rated, and Adult Unrated

• Preference will be given to youth participants from the local community and beyond

• Time control is G/30 (each player has 30 minutes to complete their game)

• Both US Chess-rated and unrated sections are available

• Prizes will be awarded to division winners (must be present to win)

• The tournament will begin promptly at 9:00 AM — no refunds for late or no-show participants
