It won’t take much of a nudge to get you into the holiday spirit if you make it to McMinnville sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Here’s how McMinnvillians do it.

Bierly Brewing: Inspired Beer Without the Gluten
There’s a new brewery in downtown McMinnville but it’s not a typical micropub. It’s Bierly Brewing, a Third Street operation producing gluten-free beers and food for an enthusiastic clientele. It’s a daring business direction that’s paying off; Amelia and JP Bierly are ramping up production to meet demand from customers throughout the Willamette Valley.

Event Picks for November
There’s a lot to see and experience in McMinnville year round. As a musician and thespian myself (and just a big fan of the arts in general), I have deeply missed performing at and attending live events, so I am thrilled to bask again in that indelible glow induced by live entertainment! Here’s what I’m most excited to attend this month.

Tiny Travels: Hot takes on warm drinks in McMinnville
When the Tiny Travelers first moved to Oregon, we heard about a strangely compelling Pacific Northwest philosophy: It’s perfectly okay—even necessary, sometimes—to travel to another city during the rainy season to hang out in a cafe.

Linfield Gallery Exhibit: Theodore A. Harris, Art as Social Praxis
The latest exhibit at Linfield University’s James F. Harris, whose work will be on display through Nov. 20.

Tiny Travels: McMinnville’s Granary District is hangout heaven

The emerging neighborhood just north of McMinnville’s historic 3rd Street has a different flair for fun, one that pairs revamped industrial spaces with modern-day hangout spots in a working neighborhood.

A Farmers Market Tour – À la Chef Rebecca Clarke
From fresh produce to some of the world’s finest wines, to most of the world’s hazelnuts, McMinnville and its surrounding areas have plenty to boast about in terms of agricultural offerings. Our people, perhaps our greatest resource, are experts at turning those offerings into an experience.

A Scenic Drive to An Artful Destination: Enjoy Fall Colors With a Driving Art Tour of the Willamette Valley
The weather is beginning to chill, as the nights grow longer and the days shorter. Oregon in the fall is a sight to behold, an excellent turning-of-the-seasons excuse for a road trip to wine country.

Tiny Travels: Reset in Oregon wine country with a spa day
You don’t need a news report to guess this news — just look at everyone’s hair this past year. Personal grooming was down from 41 minutes to 36 minutes per day, according to the new American Time Use Survey. By our calculations, if you’re going to catch up on all that lost time not spent caring for yourself, you’ve got some work to do! Luckily, McMinnville is a great place to get a fresh look and feel in a fresh place.
