The McMinnville Downtown Association Committee for Public Art was founded in January 2008 as a joint venture between the City of McMinnville and McMinnville Downtown Association. The Committee, at that time, consisted of 7 members. Two were appointed by the City, two by the MDA, and one was the founder. The remainder were chosen by these five. The Committee now, in 2024, has 11 voting members. Since 2008, the Committee has installed 35 works of art and aided in the selection of several others. We have a small stipend from the City, but a majority of the work were either donated or obtained through monetary donations. Initially works were concentrated in the downtown core area, however, the City has since asked us to act City wide. Recently acquired works tend to be more widely dispersed around the City.
