The Atticus Hotel has announced the return of its Artist in Residency program (AH, AIR), entering its second season of celebrating and supporting working artists—this time with a special focus on the literary arts. In collaboration with Linfield University’s Creative Writing Department, the 2025–26 season of AH, AIR builds on the program’s success by offering writers a rare and thoughtful opportunity: space, time, and inspiration to dig into their craft. From November 15 through April 1, the Atticus will host selected writers for residencies ranging from four days to two weeks, with flexible formats designed to meet writers where they are—both creatively and logistically. What makes this program uniquely McMinnville is its rootedness in the local community. The Atticus Hotel is already a tribute to regional culture, filled with original art and handcrafted elements that reflect the town’s character. AH, AIR adds another layer by inviting artists to become part of the story. Residents receive not only a beautiful space to work but also a warm welcome into the hotel and Linfield communities—complete with classroom visits, readings, or creative workshops during their stay. Each residency includes a room at the hotel, a daily meal at Cypress (the hotel’s on-site Mediterranean restaurant), access to amenities like the Drawing Room and Dutch bikes, and—perhaps most importantly—a deep breath from the noise of everyday life. It’s a program shaped by hospitality, intention, and the belief that creativity flourishes in community. Applications are open through July 31. Writers interested in this unique opportunity can learn more and apply at atticushotel.com. Whether you’re a visiting writer, a curious reader, or a proud local, this is one more reason to fall in love with McMinnville this winter.
